Anti-wrinkle face oil: which one to choose and how to apply it correctly

One of the most valuable components of skin oils are lipids (fats). They glue horny cells (scales) together, creating a protective barrier that retains moisture. It also protects against the penetration of harmful microorganisms.

By applying it to the cover in its pure form, it seems to us that by doing so we strengthen this protective barrier and the skin is saturated with moisture.

But the problem is that no vegetable oil contains a lipid ratio suitable for our dermis. Applied to the face, you immediately feel hydration and comfort thanks to the fact that it smoothes the horny scales and softens. It also creates a film that retains moisture on the surface.

Destruction of the skin's lipid barrier

If we continue to apply it regularly, it will begin to penetrate deeper into the skin layer and erode our own lipids. Their relationship will begin to change, which will lead to the destruction of the lipid barrier. The skin will become even more dry and flaky.

Therefore, in order to strengthen the lipid layer, it will be much more useful to consume the fats inside.

But there is also good news. Thanks to their moisturizing and emollient properties, vegetable fats are great for treating wrinkles if you do it wisely.

Anti-wrinkle face oil

In combination with other components, they have a beneficial effect on the skin and smooth out fine wrinkles. Therefore, it is also recommended to use them in various mask recipes.

But to prevent the skin from getting used to it, the recipes must be constantly changed. But more on that below.

How to choose an anti-wrinkle face oil instead of a cream

For the reasons given above, it is not recommended to use it regularly in its pure form, so it will not work to replace daily care with it instead of a cream, as it can cause serious harm.

From wrinkles, for the purpose of additional hydration and softening, it is used in its pure form only in an emergency, a course for 1-2 weeks. This must be done by observing the following rules:

  • the face must be wet before application;
  • the number of drops according to the type of skin: dry 3-4 drops, normal 2-3, greasy 1-2;
  • after 15-20 minutes blot the cover with a napkin, thus removing the excess;
  • after use, be sure to apply a moisturizer;
  • Apply the oil to the area around the eyes two hours before bedtime to avoid severe swelling.

An effective and safer way to use wrinkle oil is to add a small amount of drops to various masks, the recipes of which are given below. In combination with other components within 20-30 minutes, such formulations will only benefit if they are selected correctly (more on this later).

Anti-aging can be done 2-3 times a week. In addition, so that the skin does not get used to it, it is recommended to change the composition of the masks once a month.

And during the massage, it is not even a couple of drops, but a few ml, which you will rub thoroughly for 20-30 minutes several times a week.

Consequences for oily pores - clogged, increased sebum secretion, acne, even if it is not comedogenic.

Consequences for dryness: destruction of the lipid layer and, consequently, severe dryness and peeling.

The best fatty and essential oils for wrinkles

In the fight against wrinkles, both oils and essential oils are used. The features of their application will be discussed further.

Fat

Each of them, depending on the composition, has its own comedogenicity - the ability to clog pores and cause inflammation, as well as cause swelling.

In total, three groups are distinguished: non-comedogenic (1), low comedogenic (2) and highly comedogenic (3). It is for this indicator that it is selected for your skin type. So, for the fat type, the third group is contraindicated.

Fixed oils

Below is a list of fatty oils with an indication of the comedogenic group (in brackets) that are suitable for working with wrinkles:

Liquid:

  • Sea buckthorn (1).
  • fishing (2).
  • Rosehip (1).
  • Almond (2).
  • Winch (1).
  • Grape seeds (2).
  • Wheat germ (3).
  • Sesame (2).
  • Olive (2).

Solid (butters):

  • Shi - shea (1).
  • Coconut (3).

The following group is suitable for wrinkles around the eyes:

Liquid:

  • Grape seeds (2).
  • avocado (2).
  • Rosehip (1).
  • Almond (2).
  • Hazelnut or walnut (2).
  • Jojoba (2).

Solid (butters):

  • Coconut (3).
  • cocoa (3).

It is also important to consider the method by which the oil is produced. The most useful is cold pressing, which retains the maximum amount of nutrients.

But unnatural (mineral, petroleum jelly) it is better not to use it at all. They are highly purified of petrochemicals and can block the normal functioning of the sebaceous glands, contributing to the development of acne.

Therefore, pay attention to this factor as well and only use cold pressing.

How to use highly comedogenic?

It can be diluted with low comedogenic (group 1) in a 1: 1 ratio. All fat ones are very good with each other and you can dilute them.

Essential

As you know, essential oils enhance the beneficial properties of fatty ones and it is also not recommended to use them in their pure form. Therefore, they are used in mixtures with the basic ones (fats).
